Forsyth Barr sponsors Health Research Foundation – Hawke’s Bay

(MEDIA RELEASE)

In a move to provide support to the Health Research Foundation – Hawke’s Bay, which works to improve health in Hawke’s Bay, wealth management firm Forsyth Barr has become a Bronze Sponsor of the organisation.

Craig Lane, Forsyth Barr Napier Manager, says the Health Research Foundation – Hawke’s Bay has been addressing health challenges in the region for more than 60 years. “The Foundation has done wonderful work that has directly benefited the health of the Hawke’s Bay community. As such, we are proud to become a sponsor and help them further the great work they do,” Craig Lane says.

The Health Research Foundation – Hawke’s Bay, which organised the Family Health Fair at The Blyth in Havelock North in June this year, is delighted to receive this support. The Foundation recently went through a revitalisation of its identity, resulting in a new name, logo, and website, with the purpose of better reflecting what it stands for.

Laura Martin, Chief Marketing Officer for the Foundation says, “A holistic, pro-active view on health has become a far more normalised concept now, compared to 50 years ago.”

This approach to health is not at all new to the Foundation, which has been funding hands-on, tangible health projects for many years. The Foundation doesn’t shy away from out-of-the-ordinary health issues, or those we rather not talk about, such as sexual health, domestic violence, infant cot death, youth vaping or obesity.

“Projects can span the physical, mental, or socio-economic dynamics; they truly look at what the biggest health challenges are in our community and fund those projects that combine a strong local relevance with the prospect of tangible results and a maximum impact for people in Hawke’s Bay.”

For most sponsors, the primary drive is the ability to give back to the community and make a positive difference to people’s lives where it is needed most.

“We are impressed with how health research can directly benefit the wider Hawke’s Bay community. The Foundation’s research can bring about improvements in health practices that can provide better health outcomes for generations to come,” Lane says.

Sponsorship through ‘Corporate Partnerships’ is a new feature introduced by the Health Research Foundation – Hawke’s Bay. It offers businesses the opportunity to continuously support the Foundation. Depending on their choice for a Bronze, Silver, or Gold partnership, the sponsor will donate an annual contribution. In exchange, the Corporate Partner will have its logo, company name and full description on the foundation website. It is also entitled to features in its newsletter, to having a say in the research applications entered, researcher presentations, the use of the Health Research Foundation logo and brand elements showing their sponsorship, as well as special invitations to events.
