The Health Research Foundation – Hawke’s Bay offers two official funding rounds a year. In addition, the foundation allows for out of sequence applications if the proposed work is considered of significant enough impact for Hawke’s Bay health and wellbeing.

Funding round 1
Submit your application no later than 30 April. You will be informed within the month of May whether your application has been allocated a grant, and you can commence the proposed project.

Funding round 2
Submit your application no later than 31 October. You will be informed within the month of November whether your application has been allocated a grant, and you can commence the proposed project.

Approvals

No grants are awarded without ethical approval. Research grants may be applied for prior to approval but funds will not be given until ethical approval achieved.

Terms & conditions

I, the applicant:

  • Agree to report on research progress 6 monthly or as agreed, on attached form
  • Agree that ethical approval has been sought and approved from local body or associated education institution as the case may be (evidence required before processing).
  • Agree for my name and the research title to be used for HBMRF website/ publicity
  • Acknowledge that failure to provide a report may result in having to return funding to the Foundation.
  • Acknowledge that if research is not completed for whatever reason, I will keep the Foundation informed and there may be circumstances where some of the funding many need to be returned.
  • Agree that on completion of research I will provide HBMRF with a pdf copy of the research/ publication
  • Agree that ethical approval has been applied for or received
